Meet JP! 

When JP came to New Orleans, he was carrying a heavy burden of grief and hoping for a fresh start. Starting over proved more difficult than he imagined, however. Work was difficult to come by, and the stress of the situation, lack of work, and lack of shelter made sobriety difficult. 

Eventually, JP made the decision to return home and focus on healing and rebuilding his life. Our Going Home program helped him to return to his family earlier this year. 

Since then, with case management and the support of his loved ones, he graduated from a treatment program and is maintaining his sobriety. He has also earned his GED! Currently, he is preparing to begin a technical certification program at his local community college – a major step toward the future he’s been working hard to achieve.
