Meet J.
When J first came to New Orleans, he was excited for a fresh start. He moved in with his partner and looked forward to exploring a new city and building a new life. But soon after arriving, the relationship ended, and J suddenly found himself without a place to stay.
J has battled with sobriety for a long time, and the instability of being homeless made it even harder. He fell back into addiction before eventually finding his way into a treatment program. Graduating from that program gave him a new perspective and a new lease on life. He was determined to stay healthy and sober.
That’s when J came to Grace at the Green Light. He wanted to continue his progress in a sober living facility in Florida, and we were glad to help him take that step.
Since arriving in Florida, J has continued to do well. He is still housed, recently started working at TJ Maxx, and most importantly – he is maintaining his sobriety. J is working toward his goals with determination, and his story is a reminder of the power of resilience and second chances.
