D Made It To Detroit!

When D came to New Orleans, it was supposed to be a celebration. She was here for her birthday—looking forward to a short trip and then heading home to Detroit.

But when she and her friend missed their return bus, things quickly unraveled. Her friend only had enough money for one new ticket, and D was left behind with nowhere to go. For several days, she stayed at the bus terminal, trying to figure out how to get home.

That’s when she found Grace at the Green Light.

Through our Going Home program—and with support from donors like you—we were able to get D a new ticket back to Detroit. We provided food for the trip and checked in with her along the way. When she arrived, her friend was there waiting.
