Julee LaPorte was born in Saint Amant, Louisiana. She has called New Orleans home since 2009, and she lives in Gentilly with her husband and their two children. Julee has over 17 years of experience in education, with ten years in educational leadership with a focus on nonprofit advancement. Julee’s commitment to offering greater support to our local unhoused community was sparked when she served meals with Grace at the Greenlight for the first time in 2016 alongside her students from the Louise S. McGehee School. Since then, Julee has worked to increase awareness about the situation facing our unhoused community and leverage the power of our youth to imagine and enact positive change. She is endlessly grateful for the hard work and dedication of the staff and leadership at Grace of the Greenlight for all that they do to make all members of our community feel loved and valued.
