For the past three years, Glynis Silva has been a dedicated volunteer with Grace at the Green Light, serving the New Orleans community with compassion and commitment. Every day at 3:30 a.m., she arrives at the center to help prepare meals for clients, working alongside her husband, Douglas, to ensure that individuals experiencing homelessness receive at least one nutritious meal each day.

Glynis and Douglas have shared a remarkable journey together since high school and have been married for more than thirty-three years. Together, they raised four children and built a life centered on service, family, and community.

A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Glynis has developed an even deeper appreciation for the city through her work. The people she meets and serves each day inspire her dedication and strengthen her commitment to helping those in need.
